Senior Vice President/Design

Led a team of 50, including designers, graphic/visual artists, color/fabric technicians, stylists and marketing creatives in delivering a consistent and focused brand image for Ann Taylor Stores (totaling $1B). Reorganized and implemented new processes for design team that maximized creative potential as well as focused and inspired increased productivity, strengthened brand message and position. Presented 4 balanced and well focused collections a year to CEO and Merchandising, as well as fall and spring runway shows for editors. Partnered with Creative Director in creating images and brand messaging that was both inspirational and consistent with the brand across all channels, including online. Served on corporate and divisional teams to create strategies and goals for future visions. Researched and developed new sources and relationships for potential future businesses, resulting in the launch of Ann Taylor Celebrations in SP ’05 (totaling $11M) and Ann Taylor Collection in Fall ’07. Extensive world travel.

Responsible for overall brand image, which included concepting and designing the Anne Klein New York collection (shown at Bryant Park spring and fall fashion weeks), overseeing AK Anne Klein collection, as well as direction for the seasonal advertising campaigns. Worked with licensee businesses in designing and focusing products that supported brand vision. Responsible for creating and implementing new processes that guided, focused and inspired the design teams and strengthened brand positioning. Presented collections at seasonal market appointments to both account executives and international clientele. Led a team of 10, including designers, graphic artists, color/ fabric technicians and visual artists. Extensive world travel.

Responsible for creating and implementing processes that guided, inspired and focused design team, as well as strengthened brand position that resulted in increased retail sales of 52% within 10 months. Conceptualized, strategized and led seasonal color, concepts and development for $130M women’s sportswear and dress collections. Led a team of 18, which included designers, graphic/print artists, fabric technicians and outside contractors. Worked closely with Merchandising team in developing seasonal buy-plans. Provided direction for Patternmakers and Sewers on all construction and fit details. Extensive worldwide travel to negotiate and supervise factory and mill production as well as research and develop new sources and relationships for future businesses.
